The City has received an application for a noise variance. Please make this available to your neighborhood residents if the event is happening in your association area and let me know if you have any comments for the City Manager for considering this application.

Please also see the newly established City Manager’s policy of criteria for consideration in granting/denying a request for a noise variance. If a request for a noise variance is denied, the event may still be held, but the amplified sound for the event must remain within the permitted decibel levels found in Bend Code Chapter 5.50.

Application status is available on our website:

The City of Bend Utility Department will replace two aging water mains in the Old Bend neighborhood during the 2017 construction season. The project includes replacement of aging and corroding water mains, water service lines and fire hydrants along portions of Riverside Blvd. and Broadway St. In addition, accessibility and safety improvements will be completed at the NW and NE corners of Broadway St. and Delaware Ave. during construction.

Project construction may begin as early as April and will last through October 2017. Construction will be completed in phases to reduce the impact to area residents and local traffic. Prior to each phase, the contractor will be in direct contact with residents and businesses in the construction zone.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING CONSTRUCTION

• Access to all businesses will remain open
• Where traffic will be impacted, signage will be posted
• Limited daytime access to parking/driveways for short periods*
• Short disruptions to water service*
• Access for emergency vehicles will remain open

*Contractor will notify the affected residents directly
